Immortal at the River

Dragon Boat Festival

In orchid season boats wave with unsinkable oars,
The wind is still in the air with low moans.
May water caltrop and lotus leaf coquettish proud.
Five-color new silk twining angle,
Lychee carmine and lustrous as a ruby.

Others may smirch their fragrance and bright hues,
Than the scintillating point of your hour.
In twilight glowed the clouds with unfathomable sheen.
Ondine the Goddness and her Curse,
The passionate pomegranates burst.

端午

Note:

“Ondine”：Ondine is a 2009 Irish romantic drama film directed and written by Neil Jordan and starring Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda. The film was shot on location in Castletownbere, Ireland, and it touches upon the possible existence of the mythological selkie bringing hope and love to humans they so much want to become. The film had its North American premiere as part of the Toronto International Film Festival on 14 September 2009 in Toronto, Canada, and European premiere as part of the Jameson Dubli.

“Your time”: Qu Yuan was a Chinese poet and politician who lived during the Warring States period. He is known for his patriotism and contributions to classical poetry and verses, especially through the poems of the Chu Ci anthology: a volume of poems attributed to or considered to be inspired by his verse writing. Together with the Shi Jing, the Chu Ci is one of the two greatest collections of ancient Chinese verse. He is also remembered in connection to the supposed origin of the Dragon Boat Festival.
