Galileo had too many achievements in science and math to list them all. But here are a few highlights:

Showed that anything throw on the Earth. such as a ball.,follows a curved path.

Discovered the rings of Saturn although they confused him.

Improved the design of telescopes so much that he made money building and selling them

Discovered that the Earth's moonhas mountains.

Rainbows are rare because they need two things that don't often go together: sunlight and rain. Sunlight usually looks pale. But it contains all the colors of the rainbow. A rainbow appears when raindrops split these colors apart, letting us see them.

In empty space, all these colors travel equally fast: 671million miles an hour. But when sunlight passes through water. it slows down. Some colors go through water faster than others.

These differences in speed make a rainbow. As light enters water. it bends or refracts. The amount of refraction depends on how fast the light travels through water. Red light, traveling the fastest bends the least, orange light bends a little more, and so on. Purple light bends the most. So once sunlight enters a raindrop, the different colors split apart and travel separate paths.

"I might as well roast you for dinner. " Lon said. "At least then I'll get a meal for all my work."

Goldy looked alarmed. With a twist and a wiggle, he popped out of Lon's arm and escaped into the forest.

"Well, that figures, "Lon said. His shoulders slumped as he made his way home.

In the weeks that followed, bad luck seemed to trail Lon more than ever.Besides, he missed Gold. There was no one to talk to; There was no one pestering him for food. And it was no fun playing checkers alone, even if he did win every game.

Goldy honked and pointed his beak toward the checkers set just inside the window. Lon shook his head and laughed. "All right, I suppose I would enjoy a game of checkers."

Lon was chasing his runaway horse when a goose squawked under his feet. He tumbled into a thornbush and groaned. "Why do I have such bad luck?"

Things never seemed to go Lon'sway. If there was a bee about, he was stung. If there was a hole, he'd fall into it. And if his horse ran away, it would run straight through a thornbush. Still even bad luck might turn good if he could catch that goose for dinner.

伦正在追赶他的脱缰的马，这时一只鹅在他脚下嘶叫。他跌入荆棘丛，抱怨道：“为什么我的运气这么差？”

事情从来没有如过伦的愿。如果附近有只蜜蜂，他就会被蛰；如果有个洞，他会掉进去；如果他的马跑了，它会直接穿过荆棘丛。尽管如此，如果他能抓到那只鹅，即使是坏运气也会变好。

伦是一个倒霉蛋，无事被蜜蜂叮，掉洞里，去追脱缰的马吧，还碰到了一只鹅在他脚下乱叫，让他跌入了荆棘丛里。

伦想着要不抓住那只鹅兴许可以改运，但是鹅很快不见了踪影。伦肚子饿得咕咕叫，他看到了灌木丛里的一个鸟窝的蛋。还好，没有鹅，有鸡蛋也可以做饭吃。

出乎伦的意料的是那个蛋异常的大，在阳光下还闪闪发光，原来鸡蛋是金子做的！哎，没抓到下金蛋的鹅，只有一个鸡蛋。当然，有金蛋吧，一无所有也要好呀。

让金蛋孵化出鹅来，多好！伦很细心地照顾金蛋，连续几天每小时转动一次。终于一只丑丑的大鹅出生了，伦想到了鹅马上就会下蛋的美好画面。

伦给大鹅起名金蒂，金蒂经常缠着伦要吃的，伦很喜欢金蒂，很快金蒂吃的东西比他自己的都要好。伦跟金蒂说话，教它玩跳棋，伦等着金蒂下蛋。

等了好久，好久，好久……金蒂越来越胖，可就是不下蛋。最后伦把金蒂带到了一个农民那里，想让他看看问题出在哪里。

农民说这只鹅很有意思，颜色不一般。仔细看过金蒂后，告诉伦是不可能从金蒂身上得到蛋的，因为金蒂是公鹅。

伦知道好运从来不会降临到到他身上。他对金蒂说晚饭可以把它烤了吃，这样之前的付出也算没有白费。

金蒂貌似明白了伦的意思，它立马逃走了。失去金蒂的伦运气差到爆，他很想念金蒂。没人听他说话，没人陪他下棋。

结果一天上午，金蒂带着一只雌鹅回来了，鹅窝里还有一只金蛋。伦喜出望外，终于还是得到了金蛋。但是雌鹅立马蹲到了金蛋上面。

从此，伦和鹅们一起快乐地生活着。

When you meet someone who has a disability,what do you do? Do you stare? Do you ask what is wrong? Do you focus on the differences? Is that person's disability all that you see?

Can you look beyond the disability and see the person?

当你遇到一个残疾人，你会怎么办？你会盯着看吗？你会问出了什么事吗？你会把注意力都放到那些不同上吗？那个人的残疾是你能看到的全部吗？

Diversity is a fancy word. We use it when things are different. Plants canbe diverse. There are many plants in theworld but they are each different fromone another. Each plant is unique, or special in its own way.There is diversity in every area of the natural world.
People can be diverse too. Yes, people are alike in many ways, but they are also different. The way people look on the outside can be different. The skin we live in comes in many different colors.
Our heritage can be seen in our skin, but that is not all that we are. We are more than what we look like on the outside

How do you deal with differences?The answer is tolerance. You can decide to let other people be who they are.You can decide to accept the fact that everyone is different. Not everyone looks or thinks the same and that's okay.

You don't have to judge everyone around you. You don't have to try and change other people either. The truth is , the only person you can change is yourself.
You don't have to change other people, but that doesn't mean you can't change the world. You can work with others to help make our world a better place for everyone.

Respecting diversity means respecting other people, whether they are like you or not. It also means that you respect yourself and your own differences. Accepting diversity means understanding that you are unique, too.There is no one else exactly like you.

多样性是一个奇妙的词。当情况不一样时，我们使用它。植物可以是多样的，世界上有许多植物，但是他们各不相同。每种植物都是独一无二的，或者以它自己的方式来表现它的特别。自然界的每个领域都有多样性。

尊重多样性意味着尊重其他人，不管他们像不像你。它也意味着你尊重你自己，和你自己的差异。接受多样性意味着你也是独一无二的，没有人和你完全一样。

As players take turns jumping, they say and do different things. The Excited Burro is just one way to play leapfrog. Children around the world play it in many different ways.
